It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey Thompson (Greer, South Carolina), born in Hamlet, North Carolina, who passed away on January 8, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Barney Byrd and Mary Jane Boyles Thompson; and his siblings, Burnice Thompson, Bill Thompson and Margaret Williams.

He is survived by: his wife Pansy Brown Thompson of Georgia; his daughters, Lisa Thompson Tessneer (Ray) of Bostic and Susan Thompson Blain (Travis) of Gray Court; his sisters, Pat Sipes (James) of Goldston and Peggy Riddle (Raymond) of Siler City; his grandchildren, Tyler Bennefield (Diana), Alex Bennefield (Cheryl), Susie Grimmett and Samantha Miller (Dalton); and his great grandchildren, Zina, Bentlee, Justin, Mikayla and Talia.
