He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Joshua Sam Smith. He is survived by: his wife Rose Gilliland Pelfrey; his children, Jeanelle Pelfrey Smith of Boiling Springs and Brandon Kyle Pelfrey (Xiaoshan) of Seattle, Washington; his grandchildren, Emma, Elijah and Elizabeth Smith; and his siblings, Pamela Shaw (Rob) of Savannah, Georgia and Geoffrey Scott Pelfrey (Farida) of Brunswick. He is also survived by many nieces and a nephew.
