He was predeceased by: his wife Doris Anna Timberlake Tauber; and his parents, Edwards E. Tauber and Eleanor R. Brewer Tauber McCauley. He is survived by: his children, George F. Tauber, Jr. (Anna) of Madison, Karen L. Wilson of Los Angeles and Christopher A. Tauber (Natalie) of Boynton Beach, Florida; his grandchildren, Jessica O'Shea of Denver, Colorado, Sean C. Wilson of Los Angeles, Andrew R. Tauber of Madison, Alexander G. Tauber of Madison and Casey P. Tauber of New York; and his great grandchildren, Adele Wilson and Francis O'Shea.
