With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ernest L. Franklin (Greer, South Carolina), born in Commerce, Georgia, who passed away on September 3, 2024 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marion and Lettie Mae Mote Franklin; and his siblings, James Franklin and Frances Blackston. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kathleen Hicks Franklin; his children, Ruby Thompson (Harold) of Greer, Danny Franklin of Walhalla, Terry Franklin (Pat) of Enoree, Karen Whilden of Spartanburg and Russell Franklin (Davea) of Lyman; and his siblings, Junior Franklin of Duncan, Ralph Franklin of Crescent, Alfred Franklin of Woodruff, Richard Franklin of Fountain Inn, Bobbie Jean Tucker (Junior) of Mauldin, Sarah Loftis of Greer and Patricia Ann Roddy of Travelers Rest. He is also survived by thirty grandchildren; seventy four great-grandchildren; and twenty one great great-grandchildren.
