He was predeceased by: his parents, Rozelle Edwin and Hazel Rouda Stansell; his son Jerry M. Stansell; and his brother Harold Dean Stansell. He is survived by: his sons, Doyle H. "Duke" Stansell, Jr. (Joyce) of Greer and Joseph Lee Stansell (Niki) of Travelers Rest; his grandchildren, Jake Stansell (Christi), Josh Stansell (Shelby Flynn), Logan Earley (David), Madison Berger (Andy) and Austin Stansell (Jordan); and his great grandchildren, Hazel Earley, Mary Clay Earley, James Duke Stansell and Bennett Berger.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Praise Cathedral Senior Ministry, 3390 Brushy Creek Road, Greer, SC 29650.
