He was predeceased by: his wife Frances Tripp Henderson Hipp; his parents, William Riley "W. R." and Mary Hazel Bridwell Hipp; his former wife JoAnn Pate Hipp; and his siblings, William Hipp, Louise Jackson, Ruby Thompson, Jean Parham and Angie Hipp.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Davenport (Jimmy "Red"), Lesa Bright (Randy) of Greer and Clarence Curtis Hipp, Jr. of Greer; his grandchildren, Amanda Riddle (Bobby), Tonya Miller (Andy), Savannah Davenport, Elizabeth Hipp, Catherine Hipp, Tara Hudson and Daniel Woosley; and his great great grandchild Josie Grace Holcombe. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
