He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Young Fox; and his son Kevin Michael Young. He is survived by: his children, Karen Attaway (Lloyd) and Charles Ray Young, Jr. (Dana); his grandchildren, Michelle Attaway, Joshua Attaway, Christopher Attaway, Tori Young, Jeremy Young, Matthew Young and Charles Ray Young, III; and his daughter-in-law Tracy Young of Portmouth, Virginia.. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at the Wood Mortuary, Inc. (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Wood Mortuary Chapel (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650).
