She was predeceased by: her husband Melvin Spencer Rice; her parents, Ted Burgess and Frances Etheleign Wood Burgess; her son Howard Rice; and her brother Kenneth Burgess.
She is survived by: her children, Denise Brunson (Jack) of Taylors, Toni Bailey (Kevin) of Santa Barbara, Christa Rice Pittman (Scott) of Simpsonville and Conrad Wilson of Cape Canaveral, Florida; her siblings, Patsy Davis (Sid) of Woodruff, Doris Burgess of Taylors and Gary Burgess of Bessemer, Alabama; her grandchildren, Posey Wilson, Hunter Brunson, Catherine Brunson, Rivers Brunson, Spencer Pittman, Delaney Pittman, Lilah Wilson and Piper Wilson; and her great grandchildren, Riley Brunson and Hayden Brunson.
