With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernice Smith (Greer, South Carolina), born in Greenville, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 18, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Sloan and Josie Herd Sloan; her siblings, Harold Sloan and Lois Hawkins; her brother-in-law Bobby Hawkins; her son-in-law Gary Batson; and her grandson Brian G. Batson.
She is survived by: her husband David Edgar Smith; her daughter Linda D. Batson; her grandson Chris Jones (Christine); her great grandchildren, Dustin Jones and Daniel Jones; and her sister-in-law Mildred Sloan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 22nd 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Wood Mortuary (300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC 29650). A graveside service was held on Thursday, August 22nd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
