It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Bassett (Greer, South Carolina), born in Greenville, South Carolina, who passed away on September 14, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband V. David Bassett; her parents, Charles Brown "C. B." and Mary Frances Key Wood; and her brothers, Fredrick, Stephen and Randall Wood.
She is survived by: her children, Bonny Hicks Cartwright (Austin) of Greer, Joseph Charles Hicks (Lisa) of Beggs, OK and Tony Mark Hicks of Greer; her stepdaughters, Tammy Looper (Jimmy) of Easley, Debbie Bassett of Greenville and Joy Gosnell (Joey) of Fair Play; her siblings, Carlton Wood (Brenda) of Boiling Springs and Deborah Stribling (Ned) of Orangeburg; her grandchildren, Jennifer Fletcher (Jonathan "Fletch") of Duncan, Brandon Powell (Laura) of Greer, Lauren Aiken (Stephen) of Campobello, Chelsea Hicks (K. C.) of Greer, Austin Hicks of Greer, Jonathan Hicks of Beggs, OK, Anna Smith (Jeremy) of Okmulgee, OK and Cheyenne Hicks (Skyler) of Owasso, OK; and her great grandchildren, Nick, Aubree, Bella, Bryson and Carson. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
