She was predeceased by: her parents, Carodine Whitfield and Lois Bright Whitfield; her husband Chappy Lee Burton; and her siblings, Nita Whitfield Jordan (Charles), Floyd Whitfield (Shirley), Maurice Whitfield and Lonnie Whitfield (Judy).
She is survived by: her daughters, Terri Burton Taylor of Greenwood, Brenda Lee Roberts of Greenwood and Sue Burton McElroy (Charles) of Greenwood; her brother David Whitfield of Mt. Pleasant, SC; and her grandchildren, Melissa Barnes, Emerson Barnes Christopher (Laurie), Amber Freeman (Parker), Heather McCurry (Brent) and Blake McElroy (Sydney). She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
