He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Rudy and Annie Louise Prather Whitfield; his grandmother Bertha Whitfield; his son Sean Biggart; and his siblings, Phyllis Ash, Kenny Whitfield, Rudy Whitfield and Jeff Whitfield.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Brooks Biggart Whitfield; his children, Michael D. Whitfield, II, Crystal Baxter, Roy Kurowski and Bryan Biggart; his siblings, Sue Austin (Hoyt), Shelia Stewart (Doug), Sherry Howell (David), Debbie Martin (Ronnie) and Jerry Whitfield (Tammy); and his sisters-in-law, Wanda Whitfield and Sheri Whitfield. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection (700 Main St S, Greenwood, SC 29646). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
