He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Abney and Sophia Stewart Abney; his daughter Sophia Washington; his siblings, Mamie Julia Moore, Samella Graham, JoAnn Martin, Manor Abney, Billy Abney, Robert Johnson, William Abney, Charlie Abney and Anthony Williams; and his grandson Eugene "Man" Washington, Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Michael Williams (Faye), Anthony Williams (Priscilla), John Abney (Ethel), Sam Abney (Stacy), Rev. Mark Abney (Tina), Dwntraquis Campbell and Minister April Sibert (Bobby); his sisters, Carolyn Abney, Mary Alice Hailey and Demetist Lindsey; and his children-in-law, Eugene Washington and Barbara Ann Williams. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
