He was predeceased by: his parents, James Marion Hackett Sr. and Thomasina Rucker Hackett; and his grandparents, Julian Hackett, Nezzie T. Griffin Hackett and Ann Rucker.
He is survived by: his aunts and uncles, Frances Taylor, Jeanette White, Marie Pope, Mary White, Helen Long, Lucille Blair, Mildred Johnson, Alston, Reginald Rucker and Frank Hackett; his nephews, Donald and Dusty Williams; his stepbrothers, Zachary, Kenneth, Elston and Wayne Mackey; and his sister Cheryl Mackey. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Little River Multicultural Baptist Association (LRMBA) and the Burton Center.
