He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Ernest Hurt and Carrie Watkins Hurt; his stepgrandson Bryan Summey; and his siblings, Harold Hurt, Holmes Hurt and Bobbie Enlow.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Bryan Hurt; his daughter Cecelia Cook of Greenwood; his granddaughters, Andrea Cook of Charlotte, NC and Ashley Cook of Vancouver, BC; his stepdaughter Cyndi Bush (Charles) of Greenwood; his stepgranddaughter Lindsey Summey of Greenwood; and his siblings, Doris Petersen (Stewart) of Aiken, June Brown of Saluda and Tom Hurt (Sonya) of Saluda.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services (1425 Montague Ave, Greenwood, SC 29649). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
