It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Derk Jan Meenink (Greenwood, South Carolina), who passed away on June 13, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, A. H. Meenink and H. W. Meenink; his son Albert Meenink (Geke); and his siblings, Ab Meenink, Toon Meenink and Stien Weevers.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Stroud Meenink; his daughter Helen Daus (Gregory) of Springfield, MO; his stepdaughter Elizabeth "Liz" Wren of Ninety Six; his grandchildren, Nick Meenink (Joanne), Leon Meenink, Andrew Daus (Kelly), Joe Daus (Alyssa), Madeline Daus, Pieter Nyhuis and Jaclyn Nyhuis; and his great grandchild Nova Meenink.
