She was predeceased by: her husband Troy Odell Evans; her parents, Henry Lamar and Minnie Mildred Brooks Strickland; her stepfather John Otto Strickland; and her sister Gayle McCellan.

She is survived by: her children, Theresa Phan (Tri) of Greenwood and Ricky Evans (Jill) of Easley; and her brother Tildon.
