He was predeceased by: his parents, William L. Pyles, Sr. and Lydia Mills Pyles. He is survived by: his wife Lillie Shaw Pyles; his daughters, Patricia Dial of Mauldin, SC and Rose Pyles of Queens, NY; and his sister Genevieve Jamison of Fountain Inn, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, church members, other relatives and friends.
