With solemn reverence, we commemorate William Long Jr. of Greenville, South Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on June 26, 2024 at the age of 88, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Banks Long (Bill) and Elizabeth Laney Long; his sister Elizabeth Long Pearce; and his daughter Anna LeConte Long Skerman (Daniel). He is survived by: his sister Ann Long Forziati; his son Crawford Long (Kari Goetz); his grandchildren, Georgia LeConte Skerman (Louis Delfosse), Joseph Martin Skerman and James Porter Shields Long; his nieces and nephews, Lane Pearce Gilpin (Albert), Leslie Pearce Ervin (John), Mary Butler Pearce, Joan Pearce, Alex Richardson (Farrar) and Charles Richardson; and his caregivers, Sheila Jenkins and JJ Campbell. He is also survived by cousins and friends.
