With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Walter Ivey of Greenville, South Carolina, born in Kite, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 20, 2024 at the age of 90. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Hanson Ivey and Maude Theresa Lord Ivey; his wife Mary Shaw Ivey; his sons, Wendell (Shirley), Danny and Timothy; his grandson Zackery Quinn Ivey; and his siblings, Carnice, Adger, Bryan, Gene, Coolidge, Velma, Opal and Elaine.
He is survived by: his daughter Tina Speakman (Dan); his daughter-in-law Bonnie Ivey (Danny); and his grandchildren, Jerreme Allen (Jennifer), Amanda Johnstone (Randy), Shannon Marsh (Jason), Jarred Ivey (Ashley) and Aundrea Bishop (Matt). He is also survived by many great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
