He is survived by: his children, Ana Luisa Escobar Aceiton (Jorge Matamala, Sr) of Simpsonville and Jose Antonio Escobar Aceiton; his grandchildren, Jorge Matamala, Ana Matamala, Alexandra Matamala, Julian Duque, Felipe Matamala, Jose Escobar, Augusto Duque, Ana Escobar and Bastian Escobar; his great grandchildren, Isaiah Matamala, Romeo Matamala, Mathias Sanchez and Valerie Escobar; and his brothers, Astolfo Landaeta, Augusto Landaeta and Alberto Landaeta.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cannon-Byrd Funeral Home – Simpsonville (313 N Main St, Simpsonville, SC 29681). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church (2252 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681).
