She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Martin and Annie Ruth Martin (Berry); her husband Nathaniel C. Hammond; her former husband John Junior Harrison, Sr.; her children, Mary, Martha Martin and Thomas Lee Martin; and also, Bessie Lou Campbell, John L. Martin, Sr., James Martin and L. M. Martin.
She is survived by: her children, Sharon Dawson Sogah (Nathaniel), Rhonda Latimer (Thomas), Felicia Harrison (Khalil Shabazz), Stanley Martin and John Junior Harrison, Jr.; her godson David McIntosh; and her siblings, Rozena Mattress, Ruby Williams (Bobby), J. E. Martin (Nora) and Clyde Martin (Patricia). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
