It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roosevelt Nelson of Greenville, South Carolina, born in McCormick, South Carolina, who passed away on February 1, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sumpter Nelson and Amie Radden Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Bettye Ellison Nelson; and his children, Carolyn Williams (Ronald) of Greenville, SC, Linda Boozer (Roosevelt) of Abbeville, SC, Brenda McClinton (Wallace) of Abbeville, SC, Eunice Johnson of Greenville, SC, Michael Ellison (Stephanie) of Gaston, SC and Robert Freeman of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
