He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Joyce Nelson Dake; his son Ronald Dean Dake, Jr.; his brother Jack Stigman Dake; his parents, George Julius Henry "Jude" Dake and Mary Ellen "Mae" Alquist Dake; and his son-in-law James William "Bill" Grant.

He is survived by: his daughter Rhonda Dake Grant of Lexington, SC; his grandchildren, William Dean Grant of Columbia, SC, Melissa Dake-Costill (Peyton) of Columbia, SC, Audry Joyce Grant (William Busbee) of Columbia, SC and Sarah Elizabeth Dake of Greenville, SC; his great grandchild Archer Dake Bateman of Greenville, SC; his nieces and nephews, John Gilreath of Piedmont, SC, JoBeth Gilreath of Piedmont, SC, Eldon Nelson (Amy) of Mauldin, SC, Sandra Dake Langley (Jeff) of Tucson, AZ and Jacolyn Dake Lewis (Colorado); his caregivers, Dixon and Lee; and also, Peggy Grant, Sue Grant of Columbia, SC and John Grant (Mary Jane) of Blacksburg, VA..
