Roddy Thomas Norris Obituary

Roddy Thomas Norris, 75, of Greenville, SC, passed away on Thursday June 29, 2023, at the Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born on February 20, 1948, he was the son of the late Mildred Virginia Wilson and Roy Russell Norris. Roddy was a resident of Greenville, SC, his entire life and was a 1966 graduate of Parker High School. He served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1971 aboard the USS Prairie. He was formerly employed by Greenville Mechanical and Morris Marketing. Roddy's favorite pastimes included fishing and enjoying Nascar. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him. He was a quiet and humble man who loved to tell stories that everyone loved to hear.

He is survived by his Sisters: Nancy Morris and Barbara N. Martin (Michael); Nephews: Chris Morris (Mandy), Matt Morris (Tammy), Gabe Morris (Keri), Josh Hinson (Donna), and Jordan McCann.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by Nephew: Chad Hinson; and Niece: Julie Amanda Hinson.

A memorial service and committal will be held at the MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at 1pm on Friday, July 7, 2023.

The Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
