He is survived by: his wife Stella Law Stripling; his daughters, Susan Dawne Stripling Gannon (Mike), Harriett D "Bunnie" Stripling Hunter (Bill) and Virginia "Ginny" Stripling Smith (Greg); his stepchildren, Stella Law "Lawly" Pate Ford (Jeepy), Dorothy "Dotsy" Parker Pate, Beckham "Becky" Pate Dunbar (Jimmie), Wallace Fennell "Fen" Pate Jr. (Dawn) and John McDonald "Jack" Pate; his stepgrandchildren, Sara Dill (Justin), Nick Gannon (Nicole), Allie Hunter, Austin Hunter, Bryan Smith (Zoe), Coleman Smith, Allston Pate Shore (Royall), Emerson Pate, Jeep Ford (Mari), Pate Ford (Caroline), Stella Ford Dawson (Andrew), Lyle Bridgers, Sherrod Bridgers Law (Jeremy), Ellis Bridgers, Becka Dunbar Clayton (Jonathan), Mac Dunbar and Pate Dunbar; his great grandchild Grayson Dill; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Stella Piper Dawson, Virginia Dawson, Burkley Ford, Wallace Ford, Mary Beckham Clayton, Sarah Clayton, Finn Ford, Sitton Ford and Robert Shore; his nephew William "Bill" Pearson (Genevieve); his great-nieces, Amanda and Mary; his great-nephew Merritt; his nephew Robert "Bob" Pearson (Dona Sue); and his friend David Simpson. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 14th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ Church (10 N Church St, Greenville, SC 29601).
