He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxie Louis Alpert and Eleanor Calvert Alpert; his former wife Margaret Ann Hill; his son Alan Clay Alpert; his daughter-in-law Melanie Baron Alpert; his grandson Rand Alexander Colquitt; and his sister Maxine Calvert Alpert (Sol Kline).
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ware Alpert; his children, Richard Louis Alpert Jr., Margaret Elaine Alpert (Tom Colquitt), Jessica Sparks Morton (James Morton) and Meredith Sparks Myers (Michael Myers); his siblings, Dr. Calvert Clay Alpert (Frances Alpert) and Cindy Alpert Saad (Al Saad); and his grandchildren, Alex Alpert, Michael Alpert, Kaz Colquitt, James Morton IV, Will Morton, William Myers, Robert Myers, Henry Myers, Margaret Myers and Catherine Morton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
