He was predeceased by: his wife June Smith Kershaw; and his parents, Harold Kershaw and Lucia Ciesielski Kershaw. He is survived by: his aunt Harriet; his children, Jim Kershaw (Erin) and Patricia Hallberg McVeigh (Scott); his grandchildren, Kristin Daddario, Julie Nosel, Nicole Castaneda, Katie Fabrikant, Eric Hallberg, Patty Danz and Sara Archer; his great grandchildren, Gabriella, Penelope Castaneda, Logan Danz, Jackson Fabrikant and Christopher Daddario; and his brother Kenneth Kershaw.
