She was predeceased by: her husband Lewis "Mac" Kay of Barnwood Circle; her parents, Paul Johnston and Lila Gambrell Johnston McDougall; her daughter Nancy Gayle Kay; her sister Rebecca Johnston Steele; and her stepfather Robert McDougall.
She is survived by: her daughter Louanne Kay Newton (Taylor) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Smith (Chris) and Paul Matthew Fields; her great grandchild Mallory Elizabeth Mamo; her nephew Brad Steele Sr. (Betsy); and her nieces, Paula Robert and Janice Rappleyea (Charlie).
