He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dickerson and Icie Eavenson Dickerson; his siblings, Pauline Dickerson, Sarah Clardy, Wenona Woody, Janice Slay and Horace Dickerson; and his son-in-law John Porter.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Dickerson; his children, Diane Lopez (Jose), Jean Porter and Sam Dickerson (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Jonathan Lopez (Elizabeth), Reverend Joel Lopez (Kristen), Jennifer Creel (Greg), Dr. Jared Dickerson (Lauren) and Joanna Watkins (Logen). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
