She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard H. Martin and Jennie Ariail Martin; her husband John Elford Rice; her brothers, Col. James Hamilton Martin and Charles Curtis Martin; and her son-in-law Mason Anthony "Tony" Thompson.
She is survived by: her daughter Patricia "Patti" Rice Thompson of Greer; and her granddaughter Caroline Thompson of Johns Island, SC..
