She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin B. Burns and Alice Shindler Burns; her husband James D. Freeman; her brother Ronald Burns; and her daughter-in-law Timarie Ellis Freeman.
She is survived by: her children, James Jr. (Roma) of Edwardsburg, MI., Jeffrey (Angela), Gregory (Robin) and Susan Pulliam (John); and her sister Susan Burns.
