He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertie Maude Morgan and Martin Van Buren Chandler; his stepfather Otis Clarence Morgan; his siblings, Voncille Chandler, Mason L. Chandler and Sylvia Rutledge; and his close friend Charlie Ehrenfeld.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley Long Chandler; his children, Larry Chandler (Debbie), Scott Chandler (Lindsay), Star Chandler (April) and Tammy Chandler (Byran); his sisters, Jean Shannon and Peggy Sue Ferry; and his close friend Earl Jack Childers. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
