She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Memory L. Lanford and Lila McAbee Lanford; her brother L. "Tootsie"; her close friend Ray Brooks Carter; her son Michael "Mike" R. Carter; her granddaughters, Tonya Carter Harrison (Tyler), Shelley Carter Webber (David), Stephanie Baker and Christina Carter; and her great grandchildren, Ava, Lilly, Lauren, Alivia, Carter and Ellie Baker.
As Margaret was a charter member of Edwards Road Baptist Church, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Edwards Road Baptist Church in Margaret's memory, furthering her devotion to her faith and the community she held dear.
