She was predeceased by: her parents, Jimmie Smith, Sr. and Dealice Stoudimire Smith; her husband Percy Potter; her children, Regina and Nathaniel Potter; and her siblings, Mary Alice LeGrier, Jimmie Smith, Jr., Mildred Brown, Arzel Smith, Etta White, Willie Frank Smith, Mary Elizabeth Davis, Eddie Louis Smith and Bubba Smith.
She is survived by: her sons, Ken Potter (Terri) of Simpsonville, SC and Andre (Charlene) of Charlotte, NC; her sister Ruth Williams of Montgomery, AL; her daughter-in-law Michelle Potter of Newark, DE; her niece Sandy Petty of New Rochelle, NY; her grandchildren, Michelle Upperman (Eric), LaToya Wright, LeFunzo Wright, Krystina Tindal (Maya), Domonique Tindal, Aaron Potter and Troy Potter; and her friend Bernice "Bunny" Jones. She is also survived by her extended family and friends.
