It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Lindsay Castles of Greenville, South Carolina, born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, who passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Lindsay and Carrol Brown Castles; his brother Charles Castles; and his close friend John Mullis. He is survived by: his wife Janet Newcomb Castles; his sons, Earl Lindsay Castles (Rebecca) and Lindsay Newcomb Castles (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Lily, Justin, Jacob, Luke and Abigail Castles; his sister-in-law Debbie Castles; and his siblings, Miriam Mills (Joe), Mary Appleton (Tim), Terry Castles (Sherry) and Lamar Castles (Pamela Jane). He is also survived by eight nephews and six nieces; and eight grandnephews and nine grandnieces.
