He was predeceased by: his brother William Worthy; and his parents, Nellie Vinson Worthy and William Worthy. He is survived by: his wife Carolinda Meeks Worthy; his son Timothy Ray Worthy of Fleming Island, Florida; his stepsons, Duane Duncan of Greenville, Bradley Duncan of Greenville and Scott Duncan of Senecca; his daughter Debbie Worthy of Middleburt, Florida; and his sister Rachel Steen. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren and his six great grandchildren.
