With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jean Bowie (Greenville, South Carolina), born in Morgantown, West Virginia, who passed away on January 30, 2023 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Hoffman and Walter G Hoffman; and her siblings, Georgia Lyons (Joe), Walter Guy Hoffman (Mary) and Betty Jane Hoffman.
She is survived by: her husband Everett Y Bowie; her daughters, Ruth Smiley (Matt) and Marti Tackett (Bob); her grandchildren, Annie Tackett, Shelly Venable (Douglas), Janelle Collins (Geno), David Smiley (Courtney) and Jonathan Smiley; her great grandchildren, Declan and Maximus Smiley; her nieces, Alice Belmont, Joene Ward and Joyce Heigel; and her foster sons, Jim Hogan, John Hogan, Brian Evans and Chad Evans.
