He was predeceased by: his parents, Antoon Hottinga and Jannetje Hottinga-Spaans; his siblings, Hans and Anneke; and his former wife Ann.
He is survived by: his wife Jenell Vassy of Greenville, SC.; his daughter Janice Apter (Dennis); his granddaughter Sara Setzenfand; and his close friends, Belinda Hrivnak (Al) and Judy Hattersley (Steve).
