He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry and Cornelia of Lange Muis; and his sister Tina M. Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Liselotte Franziska "Lottie" Rupp Muis; his son Andre J. Muis of Santa Cruz, California; his brothers, Henk Muis (Yvonne) of Kingston, Coen Muis (Eduarda) of Kingston, Paul Muis (Sandy) of Kingston and Ontario; and also Ann M. Rana (Mahmood) of Golden, Colorado..
