He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Lois Mason; his parents, Doc Mason and Flora Mason; and his sons, Jody Mason and Curtis Mason.

He is survived by: his daughter Diana Minyard (Larry); his stepchildren, Diane McKinnon (Frank), Bobby Gaillard (Tammy), Mary Samples (Mike), Joe Gaillard and Janice Kestner (Gary); and his brother Dennis "Bud" Mason (Hazel). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Graceland East Memorial Park (2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681).
