He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtle Edwards Kay; his parents, Wilton Kay and Rose Bell Kay; his son-in-law Roger McCoy; and his siblings, Mary Truax, Edith Norton, Betty Kay, Ronnie Kay and Richard Kay.
He is survived by: his children, Donna McCoy, Jack Edwin "Ed" Kay Jr. and Timothy Kay; his granddaughters, Heather Gossett (Philip) and Amy Griffin (Brian); his great grandchildren, Emily Kothe (Jordan) and Abigal Gossett; and his siblings, Bobbi Turner and Sammy Kay (Ann).
