He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Poore and Stella Eaton Roach; his stepparents, R. J. Roach and Marie Poore; and his stepbrother Daryl Smart.
He is survived by: his wife Cleo Poore; his half-siblings, Elwin Poore, Lorene Christopher, Jane Hoffman, Judy Bott, Belva Bare and Jeralene Perkins; and his stepsiblings, C. H. Smart, Robert Smart, Andrew Smart, Dwight Roach, Harold Smart, Larry Joe Smart, Ronnie Smart, Delores Craigo, Donna Mills and Diane Revels. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Washington Avenue Baptist Church, 200 N Washington Ave., Greenville, SC 29611.
