She was predeceased by: her parents, Alice Swinney Armstrong and William Augustas Armstrong; her husband Myles J. Thorstad; her former husband C. V. Gosnell; her daughter Norma Shuler; her grandsons, Philip and Dale Johnson; her siblings, Naomi Cox, Helen Calhoun, Virginia Turner, William and Allen Armstrong; and her half-brother Don Mellor.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra G. Johnson of Spartanburg, Kathryn G. Moseley of Woodruff and Deborah G. Lankford (Rick) of Greenville; her grandchildren, Robin Henson (Randy), Leah, Billy White, Douglas Moseley, Timothy Brannon, Carla Wade, Casey Raines and Grant Lankford; her great grandchildren, Travis, Brandon Johnson, Randy Henson, Caleb White, Carly Raines, James and Tinley Moseley; and her great great grandchildren, Ava Johnson and Icarus White.
