He was predeceased by: his spouse Leigh Grant Smith; his parents, Amos Smith and Geraldine McGill Smith; his son David Heath Smith; and his sister Regina Smith.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, John Craig Murphy of Greenville, SC and Braiden Murphy Scoggins of Norfolk, VA; his brother Steve Smith (Jackie) of Simpsonville, SC; his grandchild Rane Smith of Denver, CO; and his stepgrandson J. C. Murphy (Danny).
