He was predeceased by: his parents, Sumter Eugene and Kathryn Page Porter; his brother Gene Porter; his son-in-law Caine Halter; and his great grandchild Luke Sumter Wardlaw.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Corbin Porter of Greenville; his children, Laurie Halter Patrick (Tom) of Greenville and Dell Porter (Lisa) of Easley; his stepchildren, Alonda Rollison (Steve), Jody Odom of Greenville and Vicky Lynch (Patrick) of Little River, SC; his grandchildren, Caine Halter, Jr. (Callie), Page Pollard (David), Sarah Wardlaw (Zach) and Will Porter; and his great grandchild Emma Kate Wardlaw.
