He was predeceased by: his parents, Bright Anderson Lowry Jr. and Rebecca Stallworth Lowry; his wife Judith Smith Lowry; and his brother Marion Banks Lowry. He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Lowry Brock (Brian Brock) and Suzanne Lowry (Keith Murlless); his grandsons, Robert Anderson Brock and Edwyn Lowry Brock; and his brother James Lowry (Martha). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, siblings-in-law, and cousins.
