She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola "Mama Tap" Powell and Grover Ladson, Sr.; her husband Curtis Ellerbe; her son Anthony Dwayne (Ellerbe); and her siblings, Catherine White, Mary Reese, Doris Pinson, Mary Gray, Fred Wornex, Johnny Ladson-Wornex, Grover "Fat" Ladson Jr. and Larry Ladson.
She is survived by: her children, Derrick Ellerbe and Debra Spears; her sister Elizabeth "Liz" Davis of Toledo, Ohio; and her grandchildren, Shaquille Goodwin, Tekeila Spears, Kadedra Spears, Tahrik Ellerbe and Amara M. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
