He was predeceased by: his parents, George Smith of Washington and Ruth Smith of Washington; and his siblings, Gennie Mae -Chatman of Washington and Franklin of Washington. He is survived by: his daughter Debra M. Keels of Baltimore, MD.; his wife Deloris; his children, Reverend Terrence (Tracy) of Greeleyville, SC, Joel (Patricia) of King George, VA, Lesa (Ronald) of Conyers, GA and Meredith of Greeleyville, SC; his siblings, Henry and Amelia -Anderson of Capitol Heights, MD; his father-in-law Samuel McKnight; his siblings-in-law, Alberta of Temple Hills, MD, Cassandra Fluitt of Kingstree, SC, Barbara Ann McKnight, Wendy McKnight and Stanley McKnight of Raleigh, NC; his aunt Thelma "Sister" Smith-Matthews of Lane, SC.; his nephew Campanella "Campy" Chatman of Florence, SC; and his cousins, Otis "Bubbie" Murray of Greeleyville, SC, Lillian Smith-Ward of Charlotte, NC and Bobby Earl Eaddy of Hemingway, SC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
