He was predeceased by: his parents, Troy Thompson and Frances Privett Thompson; his wife Barbara Smith; his sister-in-law Joann Smith; and his siblings, Mark Thompson and Anna Laura Thompson.

He is survived by: his son Stanley Todd Smith (Michelle) of Great Falls, SC; his granddaughters, Meredith and Madelyn Smith; and his brother Ronald Smith of Great Falls, SC..

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Trinity Baptist Church (112 Chester Ave, Great Falls, SC 29055). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
